Susanna has an enthusiasm for life that permeates through her storytelling. Her performance background gives her storytelling a fun, relevant and engaging style.  She loves to bring both classic myths and wise folktales to life through the spoken word.


Susanna graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Joint Honours degree in Dance and English Literature. She has a wealth of experience working with children and young people both in the UK and abroad. Since 1994 she has lead workshops and clubs for ages 4 to 18 using drama, storytelling and movement. For four years Susanna taught for the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy. She has 17 years of dance experience and has had vocal training. In 2005 Susanna took part in the ‘Young Storyteller of the Year Award’ competition and was awarded ‘High Commendation’. She is currently a resident storyteller, scriptwriter and actress at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts.


Susanna works with children of all ages, young people and adults, performing stories and delivering training workshops. She has brought historical figures, works of art and sites of interest to life through live interpretation and storytelling.



Susanna is an artist in residence at Rookery School, Handsworth. The residency is funded by Birmingham City Council. Check out the residency at and follow the link to annamation.
